Abstract
Detection of mediastinal thyroid tissue after bilateral total thyroidectomy surgery is a rare and unexpected clinical picture. There are few case studies related to forgotten goitre in the literature. This is thought to be due to the use of incomplete diagnostic methods prior to the initial operation of the etiology; it is also stated that a mediastinal thyroid tissue, which is already available, may cause it. We aimed to present the follow-up and treatment process of a 48-year-old female patient who underwent bilateral total thyroidectomy operation and who applied to the hospital again after 3 years due to compression symptoms in this writing.
